Master of Crows

Master of Crows -

Grace Draven I read Draven's The King of Hel before this one and perhaps if I hadn't I would have given Master of Crows a higher rating. It just seems to me that Draven managed to write a more intense relationship between the main characters of her short ebook than the one existing between the characters of Master of Crows...That being said, it was a very enjoyable read. I love it when the main character, Martise, is not considered a beauty and, most importantly, does not go through some magical make-over to be revealed as stunning by the book's end. Draven focused on more important things when it came to Martise and the book was better for it. The book's strongest asset were its characters, Draven really made them shine even when the plot seemed to be trying to do too much at the same time. But, in the end, I was left with the feeling that there was still something missing...
