I was really interested in this book not only because I love R.J. Anderson's books, but also because I have episodes of lexical-gustatory synesthesia - and I have to say Anderson's writing did not disappoint. Why the 2 stars rating, then? Because of that plot twist. The world building, the characters, the plot, everything was so absolutely perfect up until then... it felt jarring to have it take that turn. But it's an entirely personal opinion, and it merely reflects how I felt about it.If you're thinking about reading it, don't let it stop you, R.J. Anderson's books are always well worth the read.
